The “win and we’re in” slogan finally came true for the New Orleans Pelicans as they beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 138-131, in overtime on Wednesday, April 6 at home.

Herb Jones was on another level as he scored a career-high 35 points in the comeback victory. He was five-of-eight from behind the arc. Since March 1, he is shooting 47.8% from deep (22-of-46).

The Pelicans were down as much as 19 points, but came storming back in the third and fourth quarters. However, New Orleans was up six points with 4.7 seconds to play in the game, and ended up allowing Memphis to come back and tie the game in regulation. But there was no question who dominated overtime because it was all Pelicans, who started OT on a 12-0 run.

C.J. McCollum finished the game with 31 points, and Trey Murphy continued his hot offensive streak with 30 points.

With two regular-season games remaining, the Pelicans are guaranteed at least the ninth seed. They could still move up in the Western Conference standings and avoid the play-in tournament altogether.

The Pelicans play on Friday in their last regular season home contest against the New York Knicks, and then wrap up the regular season on Sunday at the Minnesota Timberwolves.
