Pels' Winning Streak Continues

The New Orleans Pelicans felt the pressure down the stretch and have responded by winning seven of their last eight games, including a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, 122-114.

Brandon Ingram is playing the best basketball of his career with another dominating performance at home against L.A. He poured in 36 points last night, and Pelicans announcer Antonio Daniels said something during the broadcast that has become very apparent: the game has slowed down for him. It’s true that there comes a point in everyone’s career when the game slows down for them – and it’s clearly happened for Ingram who is playing on a completely other level than anyone has seen to date.

New Orleans was leading 56-55 at the half, and the third quarter kept the game extremely close too, but the fourth quarter was the difference maker for the Pelicans as they outscored Clippers 31-24.

Along with Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas made a major impact with ANOTHER double-double; 23 points and 12 rebounds. Trey Murphy played well, as he has been doing especially the past several games, and he scored 19 points, along with C.J. McCollum.

The Pelicans have four games left to play in the regular season:

Tuesday, April 4 at 7 PM: Kings at Pelicans

Wednesday, April 5 at 7 PM: Grizzlies at Pelicans

Friday, April 7 at 7 PM: Knicks at Pelicans

Sunday, April 9 at 2:30 PM: Pelicans at Timberwolves

The Pelicans are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. The top 10 teams make the playoffs with the 7-10 seeds playing each other to determine the ultimate #7 and #8 seeds.

Yay ! * Jordan Poole was back tonight and he made a world of difference. His three-point shooting, confidence, and leadership were a ton of help. * Derik Queen is a problem for all other 29 teams in this league. This kid has a vision that hasn't been seen in any recent rookies, especially for a center. * Bryce McGowens was the second-leading scorer in this game with 23 points. He's stepped up in a big way. * In surprising news, Zion Williamson is questionable for Sunday's game at the Chicago Bulls. This is the first time in what seems like years that Zion's health is actually improving much sooner than projected. Whether this is a sign of Zion pushing himself or James Borrego pushing him, it's nice to see. Follow @TheKneaux on X, and follow me there too, @SportsChrissy.
