Losing Streak Ends; BI is BACK!

The boys are back.

After a painful stretch of 10 losses in a row, the New Orleans Pelicans finally got a big W, and it came against the perfect opponent, the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pelicans were down by as much as 12 in the third quarter, but ended up winning the game, 131-126.

Brandon Ingram was in glorious form, scoring 35 massive points. C.J. McCollum had 23 points, which was highlighted by a late three pointers to help New Orleans close out the final 3:14 on a 9-5 run that kept the Lakers stalled.

Jonas Valanciunas finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds but he got hurt with a right-knee injury in the third quarter and did come return to the game.

While the headlines across the country were only focusing on the countdown to how much closer LeBron James is to breaking the all-time scoring record, the local Pelicans fans knew this game was important for so many other reasons. New Orleans needed this victory and will look to win another on Sunday at 6 pm against the Sacramento Kings.

A quick share helps us a lot!

Yay ! * Jordan Poole was back tonight and he made a world of difference. His three-point shooting, confidence, and leadership were a ton of help. * Derik Queen is a problem for all other 29 teams in this league. This kid has a vision that hasn't been seen in any recent rookies, especially for a center. * Bryce McGowens was the second-leading scorer in this game with 23 points. He's stepped up in a big way. * In surprising news, Zion Williamson is questionable for Sunday's game at the Chicago Bulls. This is the first time in what seems like years that Zion's health is actually improving much sooner than projected. Whether this is a sign of Zion pushing himself or James Borrego pushing him, it's nice to see. Follow @TheKneaux on X, and follow me there too, @SportsChrissy.
