What’s In The Water?

Patty V • July 12, 2022

What’s in the water in New Jersey? Through the years, the “god damn Jets” have certainly had their share of time in the press.

Unless you’re hiding under a rock, you’ve heard by now that Zach Wilson is extremely fond of his alma mater mascot, the cougar. A recent story broke where Zach Wilson’s ex claims that the two split because of his infidelity, with his own mothers friend nonetheless! The internet has been full of those congratulating the young man, claiming he’s got that dog in him, which assuredly will lead to much success on the field for the Jets, right?

I ask another question though. Is it that Zach Wilson indeed has that “dog” in him, or is this a concerning theme for New York Jets quarterbacks?

First there was “Broadway Joe” trying to make out with reporters on the sideline in the middle of a game. Next, Brett Favre showed his Danny Woodhead to whoever would take a peek (while married), and then Mark Sanchez butt fumbled his way into a hookup with a 17 year old girl. There is certainly something about playing quarterback for the New York Jets that makes a man lose all inhibitions.

Whether Wilson is closer to Namath or Sanchez will still need to be determined, but one thing is for sure, this story will not be forgotten anytime soon, and we may have a new favorite 2021 draft class QB. Your move, Mac Jones!

Team Stats (Trail Blazers at Pelicans) Final Score: 120-143 Rebounds: 419-57 Assists: 27-36 Blocks: 7-8 Steals: 5-10 Turnovers: 15-8 Stat Leaders Scoring Leaders: Shaedon Sharpe, 21; Trey Murphy III, 24 Rebound Leaders: Kris Murray, 9; Yves Missi, Saddiq Bey, 8 Assist Leaders: Deni Avdija, 6; Derik Queen, 7 My Player of the Game: Derik Queen Chrissy's Key Takeaways * The Pelicans have won their fourth game of the season. Yay ! * Jordan Poole was back tonight and he made a world of difference. His three-point shooting, confidence, and leadership were a ton of help. * Derik Queen is a problem for all other 29 teams in this league. This kid has a vision that hasn't been seen in any recent rookies, especially for a center. * Bryce McGowens was the second-leading scorer in this game with 23 points. He's stepped up in a big way. * In surprising news, Zion Williamson is questionable for Sunday's game at the Chicago Bulls. This is the first time in what seems like years that Zion's health is actually improving much sooner than projected. Whether this is a sign of Zion pushing himself or James Borrego pushing him, it's nice to see. Follow @TheKneaux on X, and follow me there too, @SportsChrissy.
