Warhawks Win!!
ULM picks up first win of 2026 21-14 over Troy
ULM (1–6, 1–2) entered the fourth quarter with fewer than 100 total yards and trailed Troy (3–4, 1–2) 14–3, their season seemingly slipping away.
Then came a stunning turnaround: 165 yards of offense in the final period and two touchdown passes from quarterback Adian Armenta powered a 21–14 comeback victory.
Down 14–3 with 6:16 remaining, Armenta sparked the rally with a nine‑play touchdown drive. The two‑point try failed, leaving ULM behind 14–9.
The Warhawk defense responded with a crucial three‑and‑out, but a55‑yard Evan Crenshaw punt pinned ULM at its own 24; a holding penalty pushed the start of the drive back to the 14.
Facing third‑and‑short, Zach Palmer‑Smith broke loose for 14 yards, and a Troy personal foul moved the ball to the Trojan 35. Two plays later, Armenta delivered again, finding Darrion Gilliam in the corner of the end zone for a 16‑yard touchdown—just ULM’s second lead of the season. Another failed two‑point attempt made it 15–14.
Troy had 15 seconds for one final possession, but back‑to‑back sacks by Kevontay Wells and Billy Pullen forced the Trojans’ last timeout with six seconds left. The final play devolved into laterals and desperation, ending with Troy retreating into its own end zone, where a last‑ditch pitch was intercepted by Pullen for the game‑sealing score.
The win snapped a 392‑day drought and kept a faint postseason hope alive.
Troy opened the scoring late in the first quarter, with Tucker Kilcrease hitting Gavin Griffin from five yards out to cap a run‑heavy, 17‑play, 77‑yard drive that consumed 9:31.
ULM answered on its second possession with an Abram Murray 35‑yard field goal. The 7–3 score held through halftime, thanks in part to DJ Jester’s interception of Troy quarterback Goose Crowder after a Zy Jackson fumbled punt return gave the Trojans a short field.
ULM returns home to FMOL Health | St. Francis Stadium for a Saturday afternoon matchup against Southern Miss (1–6, 1–2). Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
