This is a subtitle for your new post

Welcome to the 7th edition of In Case You Missed It!  As usual, I'm not going to do a whole lot of talking here! We're going to get straight to the reactions!

As always, everyone has reactions to things that happened in the sport's universe this week, but these are mine!

  • Anthony Richardson!! I mean come on! What a move!
  • I didn’t think Florida would be good, but if this Anthony Richardson kid is like THAT. Watch out

  • It’s 7am on a Sunday morning and I’ve already had enough with LSU fans
  • Also, the Saints play that poverty franchise from Georgia this week, and I can’t wait.
  • Pujols!! 5 more to go!
  • Here come the Braves
  • I hate Florida State with everything in me
  • Also… LSU, do it against an ACC school
  • Ingram bringing back that 22 now all is right in the world
  • Kay Adams is BACK
  • Sean Payton picks the the Saints to come out of the South!

  • Sean Payton is also a fantasy football autodrafter. This is concerning
  • Iowa won a game 7-3. Not by scoring a TD. By scoring 2 safeties and a field goal
  • Coach O is a legend
  • AEW is in shambles which is a shame. Competition is good for all of wrestling
  • Yelich just hit a 499 ft home run and now that ball is having dinner with the Lord
  • I’m calling it on Payton Turner already. Big bust
  • Huge fan of the guy DMing his fantasy players ground rules for being on his team

  • Craig Kimberly giving Edwin Diaz a run for his money when it comes to best walk out songs for a closer

  • I don’t even watch wrestling anymore, but I’m over CM Punk
  • The Bills look INCREDIBLE
  • Cooper Kupp is still HIM
  • Diggs celebrates like he won the Super Bowl after every catch
  • Josh Allen!! That man has a family

  • Stafford is washed
  • These gender reveals are getting out of hand
  • Is Jalen Ramsey also washed?
  • JOSH JUNG IS HERE!!! Homer in bat number one!

  • Mike trout has homered in 5 straight games. In case you didn’t know, he’s very good at baseball
  • CJ Cron one ups Yelich by hitting a ball 504 ft. My goodness

  • Quinn Ewers can ball!
  • Well that was fun while it lasted.
  • Roughing the passer??? That is the worst call I’ve ever seen

  • Texas was ALMOST back!
  • Sark: "We didn't lose today, we just ran out of time." Well coach... that's generally how these games work.
  • HOLY HURDLE!

What a week it was! Football is all the way back and bringing some life to this series!

After a weather-delayed kickoff, loyal NOLA Gold fans were treated to a rollercoaster of a match that ended with a well-earned 44-36 victory over the Seattle Seawolves at the Shrine. This win moved NOLA Gold into 3rd place in the Major League Rugby Eastern Conference standings. Coach Danny Lee said of the team's response to the delay, “We just had to control the controllables. Once we told the boys the definitive time for kickoff, we had a plan ready to go. In terms of game plan, we had to be a little bit more direct, and we had to kick and adapt quickly.” NOLA Gold set the tone early, taking an initial 3-0 lead thanks to a steady penalty kick from Dorian Jones. Though Seattle answered quickly with a try to make it 7-3, the Gold launched into a dominant scoring stretch. Isaac Te Tamaki powered across the try line to ignite the offense, followed by back-to-back tries from the relentless Jonah Mau’u. Jones continued to add points from the tee, stretching the Gold’s lead to 27-7. Just before halftime, the Seawolves found a breakthrough and scored at the buzzer, narrowing the margin to 27-14. However, NOLA emerged from the locker room with purpose. Xavier Mignot wasted no time reestablishing momentum with a try that pushed the lead to 34-14. Seattle fought back with intensity, capitalizing on back-to-back tries to bring the score to 34-24. But NOLA responded with composure, as Jones added another penalty to keep the visitors at bay, 37-24. The closing stages of the match saw both teams exchanging blows. Seattle’s try was met by a decisive moment from Joe Taufete’e, who muscled through defenders for a critical score. Luke Campbell’s conversion extended the lead to 44-29. Though Seattle scored one final try at the buzzer, it wasn’t enough. With a final score of 44-36, NOLA Gold walked away with a crucial five-point win in front of a roaring home crowd and strengthens their postseason hopes with a firm grip on 3rd place in the East. Their next match will be on the road against the San Diego Legion on May 4th at 4:00 PM CT. For tickets and more details, please visit www.nolagoldrugby.com
