B.I.'s 42 Points Not Enough In Loss

The last regular season game went from good to bad to worse.

After the first quarter, the New Orleans Pelicans were winning 30-18, but then each quarter fell apart more and more, ending the Pelicans’ season with a 113-108 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With the loss, New Orleans finishes as the #9 seed and will play #10 Oklahoma Thunder in a single-elimination game on Wednesday, April 12 at 9:30 pm at home.

If the Pelicans win, they will play the winner of the #8 Minnesota Timberwolves at #7 Los Angeles Lakers. The winner of that game will make it into the playoffs.

Today’s game against the Timberwolves was a reminder that every possession all season counts. If the Pelicans had just won a couple of those games they should have, then they wouldn’t even be worrying about being in this play-in predicament.

Against Minnesota, Brandon Ingram was once again, fantastic, scoring a new career high of 42 points. The game was tied up with less than three minutes to go and then the Pelicans missed six shots in a row and turned the ball over twice. Ingram has been a solid for the Pelicans down the stretch, though.

It’s been a roller-coaster of a season for Pelicans fans, and Wednesday’s play-in game will be no different as it’s a do or die game for our local boys.
