Andrew Wellmann

Writer/Creator

My name is Andrew Wellmann, and I have spent the past eight years working in news and sports media. My career began in college, covering sports for my university newspaper, before I joined the athletic communications office at the University of New Orleans (now LSU New Orleans), where I photographed sporting events and wrote articles. After graduating in 2022, I spent a year in Springfield, Massachusetts, working as a news and sports videographer for Western Mass News. In 2024, I returned to Louisiana and joined KSLA News 12 (CBS) in Shreveport as a multimedia journalist and weekend sports anchor. During my time in the Ark-La-Tex, I had the opportunity to cover high school, collegiate, and professional sports.

My favorite sports to cover are football, basketball, and softball. Throughout my career, I have covered multiple major sporting events, including the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the NAIA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the NAIA Basketball Tournament, Independence Bowl, Bayou Classic, Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Induction, and the Super Bowl. As a passionate fan of Louisiana sports, I bring both enthusiasm and an objective perspective to my coverage. I believe in separating personal loyalties from the facts and providing audiences with informed, honest analysis. I look forward to keeping you informed, sharing my perspective, and continuing to tell the stories that make Louisiana sports special.

Team Stats (Nuggets at Pelicans) Final Score: 104-91 Rebounds: 42-41 Assists: 30-20 Blocks: 5-3 Steals: 11-14 Turnovers: 17-19 Stat Leaders Scoring Leaders: Zion Williamson, 25; Jamal Murray, 23 Rebound Leaders: Derik Queen, 12; Nikola Jokic, 13 Assist Leaders: Dejounte Murray, 5; Nikola Jokic, 10 My Player of the Game: Zion Williamson Chrissy's Key Takeaways * When the Pelicans played the Nuggets last week, they gave up 141 points. This time they only gave up 104, but they only shot 23% from three-point line so the Nuggets dominated from the beginning. * The Pelicans were outscored 37-18 in the first quarter and never had the lead. * Zion Williamson had his best game of the year, and even knocked down a three-pointer to close the gap to five points, but then two turnovers in a row by other Pelicans players extended Denver's lead to 10 points. * Derik Queen spoke after the game and was clearly frustrated with the results of the season so far.
