Pelicans Win Fifth Game in a Row

Chrissy Smith • March 28, 2023

“Just win” has become the mantra for the New Orleans Pelicans, and the local team is doing just that, having won its fifth game in a row on Monday.

The Pels defeated the Portland Blazers, 124-90, on Monday night in Portland. The Pelicans play again on Tuesday, March 28 at the Golden State Warriors in what is going to be one of the biggest games of the season for New Orleans.

Against Portland, it was all Pelicans from early on with the local team leading by 20 points after the first quarter. Brandon Ingram shockingly did not score a double-double, but he did finish the game with 29 points. Jonas Valanciunas DID finish with another double-double, though, scoring 10 points and a mind-blowing 21 rebounds. Every active Pelicans player scored at least two points. Total team effort.

New Orleans is looking for its sixth straight victory tonight against the Warriors. In the Western Conference, Golden State is currently in seventh place and the Pelicans are in eighth.

Tip-off is set for 9:30 pm CST.
