New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2025 Week 8 Preview

Caleb Yaccarino • October 26, 2025

The first divisional game of the season is here!

What the Buccaneers bring to the table?

Coming into this game, the Bucs are in first place in the NFC South. Their record is an impressive 5-2, but most of their opponents have not been great teams, and it's even worse that they barely beat them. In only one of their wins this season, they got the victory by more than one score. In the end, it's impressive to win games, but the final scores show how the Bucs are beatable. One of the main reasons for this is Tampa Bay's injury issues this season.  The roster has fallen apart, hampering this team from reaching its potential. Even with these obstacles, QB Baker Mayfield is somehow playing at a very high level, and he will be the main Bucs player to watch in this game.

How about the Saints?

The last game was embarrassing. When part of the team thing looked fine, another looked like a massive issue. QB Spencer Rattler looked rattled (no pun intended) most of the game, the decision making was not there, and Bears DC Dennis Allen had his number. The young QB was not the only one who struggled. Kellen Moore was making bad playcalls at important times, and if some better decisions were made, the Saints could have actually somehow won. Instead, the team is 1-6 and looking to end the losing streak.

My Prediction

I made a risky decision last week to choose the Saints to get an upset win... but I can't do it again. The Saints are a struggling team, and although I do think this game is winnable, they must prove they can get victories.

A quick share helps us a lot!

Team Stats (Celtics at Pelicans) Final Score: 122-90 Rebounds: 54-35 Assists: 25-17 Steals: 5-7 Blocks: 7-0 Turnovers: 11-13 Stat Leaders Scoring Leaders: Anfernee Simons, 25; Jordan Poole, 22 Rebound Leaders: Neemias Queta, 11; Yves Miss, 7 Assist Leaders: Payton Prichard, 8; Trey Murphy, III, 5 My Player of the Game: Jordan Poole Chrissy's Key Takeaways * The first two losses of the season were tough but at least the team looked good. In this game, no one looked fired up to compete except Jordan Poole and Jose Alvarado. * Zion did not play because he's been spending all offseason getting in shape just so he could rest after two games. Makes no sense to me. * Trey Murphy and Herb Jones need to find their spark and stride. These guys have been putting in a ton of work in the offseason but it isn't showing right now. * Willie Green has got to be on a short leash because this 0-3 start feels like the team is just picking up where they left off except this time they're healthy and have all the momentum in the world. * The next three games for the Pelicans will be on the road against Denver, Clippers, and Thunder .
