New Orleans Saints vs Los Angeles Rams 2025 Week 9 Preview
The New Orleans Saints are entering Sunday 1-7, and their next opponent could be the biggest test of the season.
What the Rams bring to the table?
Seven games into the season, the Rams are playing high-level football that is reassuring their hopes for another Super Bowl. The dynamic offense led by head coach Sean McVay has a million ways to beat teams. In the run game, RB Kyren Williams typically does not dominate teams, but he consistently gains around 60 rushing yards per game and can secure some tough yards. The real area of the offense that scares opponents is the passing attack, which includes QB Matthew Stafford, WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, and TE Tyler Higbee. The offense could single-handedly win this game, but their defense could do the same. The pass rush is great, the run defense is greatly improved, and they are one of the best scoring defenses in the NFL.
How about the Saints?
The story of this game is rookie QB Tyler Shough finally getting his first start in the NFL. Last week, Shough was subbed in at QB near the beginning of the third quarter, and it was a fine performance. Going into the game against the Los Angeles Rams, Shough is going to have a significant test for his first game as a starter, and the Saints are going to do everything right to win this game. The rushing attack needs to establish some consistency; they must avoid turnovers, and the defense must hold strong, not allowing big plays.
Injury Report
RB Alvin Kamara - Questionable (expected to play)
WR Rashid Shaheed - Questionable (expected to play)
CB Alontae Taylor - Questionable
My Prediction
As I mentioned when talking about the Saints, they will have to do everything correctly to win this game, but that has not happened yet this season. The fact that this is also Tyler Shough's first start in the NFL, which is a complete unknown factor, means there is no way I can choose the Saints to win this game. For a final score prediction, I believe the Rams will win 31-17, with Shough throwing 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
A quick share helps us a lot!
