New Orleans Saints vs Chicago Bears 2025 Week 7 Preview
After losing last week, can the New Orleans Saints bounce back with a win over the Chicago Bears?
What the Bears bring to the table?
In the 2024/25 season, Chicago had a pretty disappointing year, and rookie QB Caleb Williams struggled. Following a complete coaching staff change and significant roster improvements, the Bears were hoping to have the season they had hoped for last year. It started a bit slow due to the offense not finding their consistency expected when former Lions OC Ben Johnson was hired as HC, but going into Sunday's game, the Bears offense has greatly improved. On the other side of the ball, a familiar face to Saints fans is coaching the defense: Dennis Allen. After being fired by New Orleans last season, it didn't take much time for Allen to find a job. This defense has been one of the best in the NFL at causing turnovers, and they are playing confidently.
How about the Saints?
The term "revenge game" is tossed around a lot when talking about sports, and this game fits the bill. Current Saints starting QB Spencer Rattler was benched for Caleb Williams at Oklahoma, which led to Rattler leaving for South Carolina. In the end, this was actually a good thing for his career, but it wouldn't be surprising if there is a little extra motivation in this game against the Bears. Rattler has been playing winning football, and if it wasn't for some drops and a fumble last game, we could have been talking about the two-win Saints entering this game. The other issue in the Patriots loss was the defense, and if the Saints want any chance of beating the Ben Johnson-led Bears, the defense can not start as bad as it did last week.
Injury Report
CB Isaac Yiadom - Questionable
DT John Ridgeway III - OUT
My Prediction
I really think this is going to be a challenging game for the Saints to win. The offense should have a decent day against the Bears defense, but again, the Saints defense could let them down. That first half against the Patriots was an ugly one, but the second-half adjustments kept the team in the game. This is really a toss-up, but I'm going to go with the Saints winning this game 20-15.
A quick share helps us a lot!
