My Five Finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Marcelo Unda • February 8, 2024

The NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame will announce their finalist for the Class of 2024 tonight. The Finalist have been narrow down to 15.

The Pro Football HOF selects between 4-9 players each year depending on the amount of votes. The selection committee makes their vote based of the HOF mission:

“Honor the Greatest of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values and Celebrate Excellence Together.”
There are a lot of great players on this list. Some more deserving of others. I am going to list out my top 5 players that I think who should be part of the HOF class in 2024.

5. Patrick Willis

A real life monster on the field. He would make receivers crumble and running backs shatter like glass. Willis was the last of this linebacker breed before the NFL transistion to what it is today.
4. Dwight Freeney
A freak off the edge. Watch that first step off the line! Bruh can move the pyramids with that power. Tackles did not have a chance of blocking him. Probably why they are jumping back early these days. & how can you forget that legendary spin move!
3. Devin Hester An incredible playmaker that could initiate a spark for a team. These are just the 14 punt return touchdowns! He still had 5 more on kickoffs. I can't think of the NFL during this era without describing who Hester was. An Icon to the spot. He deserves to be in the hall.
2. Julius Peppers
I don't think you can begin to discuss the Panther's franchise without leading off with Julius Peppers. A beast on the edge who display incredible power. Peppers lands at number 4 on the all time sack list behind: Bruce Smith, Reggie White, & Kevin Greene. Legends!
1. Antonio Gates
Gates was a hell of a ball player. The fact he got to play with 2 future Hall of Famers- Brees & Rivers is something special for a player's career. He leads touchdowns all time for Tight Ends. Amazingly talented and always a reliability in the red zone.

All 15 finalists are deserving, and it's still possible that more than 5 get in this year.  If you want more stats and information on the finalist, check out the Pro Football Hall of Fame site that breaks down each finalist. Let me know who you would think should get in this year's Hall of Fame Class.
