Let's get into it!

The 2024-2025 LSU Men's Basketball season tips off Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, against ULM.

The Tigers were chosen to finish 14th in the SEC. LSU has 9 preseason top 25 teams on their schedule.

Head Coach Matt McMahon is returning for his 3rd season at the helm for the Tigers. Coach McMahon improved from 14 to 17 overall wins and from 2 to 9 SEC wins.

The Tigers have 8 returning players.

Mike Williams III - Williams should continue to contribute in a big way.

Jalen Reed - Reed may be a starter on this team. He has been very consistent for the Tigers.

Corey Chest - Chest redshirted last year for the Tigers. He will provide quality depth for this team.

Tyrell Ward - Ward will likely be a starter on this team. He plays with a ton of hustle and is fun to watch.

Adam Benhayoune - Benhayoune will provide quality depth for the Tigers.

Derek Fountain - Fountain will fit right into the rotation for the Tigers. He may even start this season.

Trace Young - Young will provide quality depth for the Tigers.

Daimon Collins - Collins was injured at the beginning of last season. He should fit into the rotation this season for the Tigers.

The Tigers have added 4 transfers.

Jordan Sears - Sears will probably start for the Tigers. The UT Martin is a 2 time All Ohio Valley Conference player. Also, he was a finalist for Collegeinsider.com's National Player of the Year award.

Dji Bailey - Bailey won the Chris Daniels Award last season, the Atlantic 10 Conference's most improved player. The Richmond transfer will be a solid piece for the Tigers.

Cam Carter - Carter, a Louisiana native, attended Oak Hill Academy. He played at Mississippi State and Kansas State. He will probably start for the Tigers.

Noah Boyde - Boyde is transferring in from McCook Community College, where he averaged 11.2 points. Standing at 7' and 245 lbs, Boyde will provide solid depth for the Tigers.

The Tigers have 4 incoming Freshmen.

Robert Miller III - The 4 star power forward stands at 6'10". Miller's father played football at LSU, and his mother played basketball at Tulane.

Curtis Givens III - The 4 star point guard helped Montverde Academy go 33-0 and win a national championship.

Trey'Dez Green - The 6'7" football star will play power forward for the Tigers.

Vyctorius Miller - The 6'5", 4 star shooting guard will fit right in on this Tiger basketball team. Miller is the son of Silkk the Shocker.

The Tigers will look to continue improving this season while making some noise at the same time.

Team Stats (Trail Blazers at Pelicans) Final Score: 120-143 Rebounds: 419-57 Assists: 27-36 Blocks: 7-8 Steals: 5-10 Turnovers: 15-8 Stat Leaders Scoring Leaders: Shaedon Sharpe, 21; Trey Murphy III, 24 Rebound Leaders: Kris Murray, 9; Yves Missi, Saddiq Bey, 8 Assist Leaders: Deni Avdija, 6; Derik Queen, 7 My Player of the Game: Derik Queen Chrissy's Key Takeaways * The Pelicans have won their fourth game of the season. Yay ! * Jordan Poole was back tonight and he made a world of difference. His three-point shooting, confidence, and leadership were a ton of help. * Derik Queen is a problem for all other 29 teams in this league. This kid has a vision that hasn't been seen in any recent rookies, especially for a center. * Bryce McGowens was the second-leading scorer in this game with 23 points. He's stepped up in a big way. * In surprising news, Zion Williamson is questionable for Sunday's game at the Chicago Bulls. This is the first time in what seems like years that Zion's health is actually improving much sooner than projected. Whether this is a sign of Zion pushing himself or James Borrego pushing him, it's nice to see. Follow @TheKneaux on X, and follow me there too, @SportsChrissy.
