Tigers sweep Wildcats in Super Regionals for Omaha Berth.

Well the Weather Outside is...Weather.

SUPER Regional Baseball began this weekend and the LSU tigers played host to the Kentucky Wildcats in Baton Rouge. Game 1 matchup was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. until the NCAA announce they would delay the start due to, weather (?).

If you were in South Louisiana this weekend , you experienced what this summer has in store. I am sure you were a couple of cold ones deep. Sitting poolside, and listening to your favorite Spotify playlist. Maybe you had the opportunity to go to the game and watch inside of Alex Box Stadium.

There wasn't a cloud in sight!

Why was the game being pushed back, fans questioned. Was the NCAA & SEC behind the decision for ratings? There was no reason this game could not have started at it's designated time.

Late Shift

First pitch finally arrvied at 9:15 p.m. Fans were frustration and exhausted waiting to start this game. You wondered if it would effect the players going into the game, and how they would perform.

Things got under way. Then any doubt was gone when we saw Tre' Morgan's home run in the first inning.

The pop from the crowd was electric! From that moment on, the Tigers didn't look back. The fans no longer cared about the delayed start. They were there witnessing greatness. I felt bad for the fans who couldn't wait and missed that game. I think during the broadcast at some point they had over 12,300 fans in attendance. [Side Bar: I'm almost certain the Oakland Athletics have about 1800 fans at each game.]

My favorite part of the night is Jay Johnson giving his recruitment pitch to any player in the Transfer Portal to come to LSU:

Omaha Bound

The Tigers took Game 1 on Saturday winning 14-0, and swept the series on Sunday, 8-3. Now the Tigers look to continue their quest on winning a National title in Omaha. I was surprised to see how well the Tigers played in the Supers. I think all LSU fans will say this was the best game all year, and question where this team was during the regular season. It wont matter how perform during the regular season. As long as the Tigers continue to play like they did on Saturday, they will be competing at a chance for the Natty!

Who was the most impressive team of the weekend? Is there a bullpen who can matchup well versus the Tigers? Does Paul Skenes continue to follow up his performance into Omaha? Sound off in the comments or tweet at me, @marcelo_unda on twitter.

247Sports All-Time Commits rankings showing player cards with photos and ratings; Tylan George and Jordyn Crites visible

Tulane Green Wave fans have plenty to celebrate this cycle and previous. According to the latest 247Sports composite rankings, the Green Wave have landed the two highest-rated recruits in program history for the Class of 2026, and they’re not just any two prospects. Tylan George, the massive interior offensive lineman from West Monroe High School in Louisiana, sits at No. 1 with a 0.8939 rating. The 6’3”, 310-pound 4-star prospect has been a dominant force on the offensive line, earning praise for his pancake block totals and elite strength (515-pound squat, 315 bench as a junior). George brings immediate size, power, and local pride to an offensive line room that’s hungry for impact talent. Right behind him at No. 2 is Jordyn Crites, the 6’6”, 255-260 pound defensive lineman from Friendswood High School in Texas. Crites recently earned his 4-star upgrade and a 0.8926 composite, making him one of the most athletic and long defensive linemen in the class (83-inch wingspan, 4.8 forty, 530-pound squat). He played both defensive end and tight end in high school and brings versatility, length, and upside that fits perfectly in Will Hall’s defensive scheme. Together, George and Crites represent a seismic shift in Tulane recruiting. Not only are they the top two in the 2026 class, but their ratings mark a new ceiling for what the Green Wave can attract. One bolsters the trenches on offense with mauling power; the other adds length and explosiveness on defense. Both have potential to contribute early and raise the floor (and ceiling) for their respective position groups. This isn’t just a good class, it’s a statement. Tulane is no longer just competing for regional talent; they’re landing blue-chip prospects who have Power conference offers and are choosing to build something special in New Orleans. The Green Wave are trending up, and these two are the new faces of that ascent. #RollWave #RMFW Make sure to follow Patrick Harkness on X
